The stakeholders of the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway have identified points to set up facilities such as cloverleaves, underpasses and flyovers. A recent high-level meeting of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Huda, Delhi-Gurgaon Super Connectivity Ltd, zeroed in on Shankar
Chowk as the spot for setting up a cloverleaf flyover.
Officials also agreed to build a flyover or an underpass between Shankar Chowk and Iffco Chowk, while an underpass is likely to come up at Hero Honda Chowk.
However, the officials of the stakeholder bodies are yet to thrash out the crucial cost-sharing issue. There has not been any meeting of minds on this issue so far.
MUMBAI: The top seven cities in the country absorbed 32 million square feet of office space in 2010, stated an India Office Market View report by global property consultant C B Richard Ellis, which was released on Monday. The report covers Grade A and Grade B office space rentals and market movements across the national capital region (NCR), Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune and Kolkata.
Mumbai, NCR, Bangalore and Hyderabad led the country in space absorption.
A detailed survey of Delhi will be conducted by engineering consultants RITES Ltd. to check the feasibility for setting up Monorail facilities, said Delhi Transport Minister Ramakant Goswami on Monday while responding to the demands made by several MLAs in the Delhi Assembly for extending this light rail transit system to their constituency.
The discussion began with a question put forth under ‘Starred Questions’ by BJP MLA from Sangam Vihar Dr. S.C.L. Gupta who wanted to know the parameters prescribed by the Government to operate Monorail facilities in different areas in the city. He also asked if Monorail will be introduced in Sangam Vihar to promote tourism in the area. “A Monorail facility should be brought about to link Sangam Vihar to Mehrauli since 20 lakh people use the Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road daily,” he said.

Greater Noida farmers agree to not obstruct link road work

GREATER NOIDA: The Greater Noida Authority has claimed that it has resolved all problems obstructing completion of the eight-lane link road to Noida following a meeting with farmers of Greater Noida (West). Work on the delayed link road, slated to provide signal-free connectivity to Noida, Delhi and Greater Noida, will resume at once and the project will be completed by April next year, Authority officials said.
On Monday, a committee of the Authority led by OSD Yogendra Yadav met farmers of Devla, Khairpur Gurjar and Maicha villages to sort out their grievances. Even though the Greater Noida Master Plan 2021 was approved by the NCR Planning Board earlier this year paving the way for all stalled development work in the region, these farmers have been opposing the Authority's decision to resume work on the 130m road. Farmers had been saying that unless the Authority disburses enhanced compensation, allots 10% developed plots, and carries out rural development work, they will not allow any development work.
"Devla and Khodna Khurd villagers had been demanding development work in the area and we have already begun construction of roads, laying down new sewer networks, building schools, installing streetlights, etc in these areas. Similar development work will be undertaken in eight more villages," said an Authority official.
"The abadi matters and disbursement of compensation cheques too will be completed soon," he said.
The 130m-wide link road is being constructed between Parthala Khanjarpur in Sector 122 of Noida and Sirsa-Kasna in Greater Noida. Work has remained stalled for over a year due to the land row.
Greater Noida Authority CEO Rama Raman had met farmers and held special camps last month to sort out the matter, but in vain.
However, the Authority claims that with the rural development work already on in some villages, the villagers have agreed to not obstruct the work on the link road any more. Read more…

Driving on the wide, signal-free Yamuna Expressway can be a delight. But over-speeding presents a major hazard for the people travelling on the 165-km stretch – especially when the system installed to check the menace does not work properly.
The expressway that connects Greater Noida and Agra was thrown open to the public on August 9.
Greater Noida police officials say they are unable to prosecute speed offenders because the communication system and cameras installed for the purpose fail frequently.
Offenders often go scot free because the police are unable to issue challans thanks to glitches in the system
One is legally allowed to press the accelerator up to the speed of 100 km/hour on the expressway, however, many vehicles have been found driving in excess of 125 km/hr, they said.
Giving an instance, a police official posted at a check post on the expressway said they noticed a car speeding at over 120 km/hr on Tuesday.
Haryana chief minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Monday said that the government intended to set up an international cargo airport in the NCR region and 3,000 acre of land has been identified for the project at Bhaini Maharajpur and Bhaini Bhairon villages.
The chief minister was speaking at a dinner meeting of industrialists of Japan and India in New Delhi last evening. Former Prime Minister of Japan and chairman of India -Japan Global partnership Summit (IJGPS Yukio Hatoyama was present in the meeting.
Noida-Greater Noida metro extension to be open by March 2017
The said extension, that will be an extension of two lines, namely Dwarka Sector 21-Noida City Centre and the upcoming Noida-Noida Sector 62 stretch, will comprise 21 stations.

The 30-km long elevated Noida-Greater Noida metro extension is likely to be thrown open by March 2017, months ahead of its deadline, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation chief Mangu Singh said today.
Singh made the comments at an event to mark the installation of the first ‘U-girder’, horizontal segments on which metro tracks are laid on elevated sections, of this upcoming corridor.
Singh expressed hope that in view of the “fast pace” of construction, it “should be possible” to open this section for the public a few months before the schedule. Read more…

पॉड टैक्सी के रूट की अड़चनों को दूर करने की कवायद अधिकारियों ने शुरू कर दी है। नगर निगम के कमिश्नर और पर्सनल रैपिड ट्रांजिट (पीआरटी) सिस्टम के नोडल ऑफिसर सुधीर राजपाल की अध्यक्षता में हूडा, पीडब्ल्यूडी बीएंडआर और बिजली निगम के अधिकारियों की एक बैठक गुरुवार को हुई। बैठक में पॉड टैक्सी के रूट को लेकर चर्चा की गई। इस रूट को मेसर्ज अल्ट्रा फेयरवुड ग्रीन ट्रांसपोर्ट प्राइवेट लिमिटेड की ओर से तैयार किया गया है।
एक सप्ताह में देना होगा जवाब
नगर निगम के एक अधिकारी ने बताया कि हूडा, बिजली निगम और पीडब्ल्यूडी बीएंडआर को पॉड टैक्सी के रूट का नक्शा सौंपा गया है। उनसे आग्रह किया गया है कि इस रूट की जांच करें और एक सप्ताह के अंदर रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत करें कि कंपनी की ओर से तैयार किए गए रूट में उनकी कोई मास्टर सर्विसेज आ रही हैं या नहीं। हूडा के सर्कल नंबर 2 की ओर से रूट को हरी झंडी दे दी गई है। इनके अधिकारियों का कहना है कि रूट को लेकर सर्वे किया जा चुका है, उनकी कोई मास्टर सर्विसेज इस रूट में नहीं आ रही है। अब हूडा के सर्कल नंबर 1, बिजली निगम और पीडब्ल्यूडी बी एंड आर को रिपोर्ट सौंपनी है। रिपोर्ट सौंपने के बाद सभी विभागों के अधिकारियों की बैठक दोबारा होगी, जिसमें इन बाधाओं को दूर करने को लेकर चर्चा की जाएगी। अगर मास्टर सर्विसेज शिफ्ट हो सकती हैं तो इस बारे में विचार किया जाएगा। अगर नहीं तो रूट को दोबारा तैयार करने का आग्रह कंपनी से किया जाएगा। रूट के फाइनल होने के बाद प्रदेश सरकार को इससे अवगत करवा दिया जाएगा। Read more…

ग्रेटर नोएडा इलाके के बोडाकी में बनने वाले अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर के रेलवे जंक्शन व ट्रांसपोर्ट हब परियोजना को ग्रेटर नोएडा अथॉरिटी ने अमली जामा पहनाना शुरू कर दिया है। अथॉरिटी ने आधुनिक रेलवे जंक्शन व ट्रांसपोर्ट हब बनाने के लिए पूरा खाका तैयार कर लिया है। इस परियोजना पर 132 करोड़ रुपए खर्च होंगे। रेलवे जंक्शन बनाने के लिए मशहूर कंस्ट्रक्शन कंपनी के साथ अथॉरिटी ने एमओयू को भी स्वीकृति दे दी है। अथॉरिटी अफसरों का कहना है कि इस परियोजना के पूरे हो जाने से ग्रेटर नोएडा शहर के विकास में चार चांद लग जाएंगे। Read more…

The Uttar Pradesh government has planned “compensatory afforestation” in four districts of Bundelkhand for the loss of green belt in the area under the proposed Upper Ganga Canal Expressway.

Housing demand to slow down on higher price and mortgage rate
New Delhi, Jan 10 (PTI) Housing demand is likely to slow down due to higher prices and increased home loan rates in the current year, rating agency Fitch said today.
"The higher prices combined with the increase in interest rates on mortgages in 2011 is likely to slow down growth in the residential segment," Fitch said in a report referring to demand and sales.
After a huge slump in 2009, real estate sales zoomed on in 2010, driven by pent-up demand for homes, particularly in the affordable housing segment. The trend was witnessed throughout the country. Read more…
